I grew up in multifamily. Some of my earliest memories are of cleaning rental units, pulling weeds, painting walls, and doing the books with my dad. Property management wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me everything: how to protect margins, handle tenants, and keep an asset performing through every cycle. I started investing early, funding private loans before I even got into the business full-time. I knew real estate could be a powerful tool for building long-term wealth and I wanted to be on the ownership side from the beginning. Then I became licensed and launched a full-time career in Toronto’s highly competitive market. I closed over $55M in sales, ranked in the top 1% of realtors downtown, and was named Top Realtor Under 30 three years in a row.

While building that business, I continued to grow my portfolio — purchasing a pre-construction condo, picking up a single-family rental, and expanding into more sophisticated strategies. I also invested heavily in sharpening my skill set. I became a Certified Negotiation Expert, completed the Strategic Coach Signature Program, and dove deep into leadership and communication training, all while helping clients and investors navigate high-stakes decisions. But eventually, I hit a wall. I was working seven days a week, managing a team, and on track to build a million-dollar business but I was burning out. I knew I wanted to start a family, and I also knew I couldn’t keep running at that pace. My business was too tied to one location and too dependent on me showing up every day.

That’s when it clicked: the investments I’d made years earlier were creating real flexibility. They gave us the opportunity to leave Canada, live in Argentina, Belize, the U.S., and now Costa Rica. They proved that I could stay in real estate on my terms. That’s when I transitioned out of real estate sales into fund management to build something more scalable and impactful. But I didn’t build it blind, some early LP investments didn’t go as planned, a few even ended up in litigation. I got to test the waters with my own capital first and learned exactly what red flags to look for, how to underwrite more thoroughly, and how to evaluate risk in a way that aligned with long-term preservation and growth. As more friends, colleagues, and high-performing professionals started asking how I did it, I saw the need for a fund. That’s how Hylee Capital was born, named after two of my three kids, Hypatia and Leonardo. Hylee is a long-term investment fund built for families like mine: busy, high-income professionals who want their capital working harder, more efficiently, and with a higher level of scrutiny. At Hylee, I approach every deal through the lens of a Limited Partner. I ask the hard questions. I work only with trusted operators. And I focus on education, because investors deserve clarity on where their capital is going and how a deal is structured, while understanding that all investments carry risk.

Today, we allocate across multifamily, industrial, development, diversified credit, and energy, always with institutional-grade diligence and a clear emphasis on downside analysis and risk-adjusted return potential. Real estate gave me the lifestyle flexibility I was looking for and now I help others explore how alternative investments may support their own goals, whether that’s more time, greater legacy, or simply more optionality. For my family and yours.
